Xiaomi HyperOS 4 Android 17 Eligible Device List: Release Date, Features and more

Xiaomi HyperOS 4 Android 17 Eligible Device List

It’s not hard to understand the amount of discussion that is currently going on among Xiaomi users about HyperOS 4. Because HyperOS 4 is not officially launched until February 2026, but looking at leaks/community reports and Xiaomi’s development track, many are assuming that this is going to be their biggest “internal” change update. But let’s say one thing at the beginning: these are not official confirmed features/device lists – everything can change.

What could be the biggest change in HyperOS 4?

The most common thing that is coming to the fore is the “Zero-Legacy” style plan. Simply put, moving to a new architecture by reducing/removing as much old MIUI-era code/dependencies as possible. According to reports, work has begun on removing the MIUI SDK from some system apps in HyperOS 3.1 – if this is true, then HyperOS 4 will try to make the system more modular, clean and stable.

Here’s what’s expected:

  • The UI will be more fluid.
  • Bugs/crashes will be reduced (in theory).
  • Battery/thermal management will be a bit better.
  • Updates will be easier to roll out gradually and more intelligently.

AI + new framework: Smarter “from the inside”?

Another big point is system-level AI integration. There is a suggestion that Xiaomi could embed its AI model/AI layer more deeply into the OS. This could improve things like performance optimization, predictive actions, memory management, and UI personalization. But AI features are often cut down by region/device – so who will actually get what, we’ll see later.

In addition, the leak mentions a core app/component rewrite with Flutter + Rust – the main goal is stability and consistent UI rendering. The work is big, so it’s hard to say whether it will all come in one update or in stages.

What could come if it’s based on Android 17?

Based on Android 17, it could also bring big screen/foldable adaptability, new Material Design elements, performance-level smoothness, and privacy control upgrades with HyperOS 4.

Possible timeline (reported): Release date

A rough idea as per the report is:

  • Android 17 stable: June–July 2026
  • HyperOS 4 beta: May–June 2026 (flagships first)
  • Stable rollout: May start from August/September 2026 and spread to 2027
